Friends of Africa Family Safaris is offering Camel Safari. It aims at spreading the knowledge of the natural and cultural resources of Northern Tanzania and distributing the benefits of tourism throughout the region, especially to the rural communities.

Experience the thrill of camel back-riding across the African savannah, with a small group of friends or even alone, surrounded by tradition, wildlife and an outstanding scenery.
Camel safaris are the ultimate wilderness experience. They allow you to go deep into the heart of the bush where you can observe closely giraffes, zebras and many other animals without sitting in a vehicle all day, track elephants on foot and get in touch with the local communities that are perfectly knowledgeable of their rich cultural and natural heritage.
Lake Natron Camel Safari
7 days and 6 nights

Lose your sense of time, and experience a world of essential beauty. You will pass near the Mountains of Ketumbainei and Gilai following the direction of Lake Natron. You will see the Ol Donyo Lengai rising from the Maasai Steppe, and this will be your orientation point for the last 3 days of the safari. The animals, the colourful Maasai and the dreaming landscapes, make of this safari not a common journey but a fantastic life experience.

Day 1-2-3-4-5-6
In the early morning, you reach the Mkuru Camel Camp. After a delicious breakfast, the seven days of camel safari begin. A group of Maasai will take you through the Maasai Steppe. You can choose to ride the camels, or if you prefer, to walk. You will encounter different kinds of animals - antelope, zebra, giraffe, ostrich and many birds. During these days you will appreciate the unique and incredible savannah sunset, having a good glass of wine with a delicious meal that a trained cook will prepare for you. The accommodation is in comfortable small tents, camping toilet and shower are available.

Day 7
The safari finishes in the late morning, when you will reach Ol Donyo Lengai, near lake Natron.

Mt. Kilimanjaro Camel Safari
3 days and 2 nights

This is the best compromise for those who do not have a lot of time but would like to experience a wonderful camel safari. It is also an excellent trekking training, for those who plan to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. The roof of Africa will be your destination with Maasai guides at your side. The flora, fauna and landscape of this expedition will give you a clear impression of North-East Tanzania.

Day 1-2
In the early morning, after a delicious breakfast, the three days of the camel safari begin. You can choose to ride the camels, or if you prefer, to walk. The animals you will see are various, such as hyena, gazelle, zebra and near Endarakwai you will see elephants. During your trip a trained cook will prepare delicious meals for you. At night you will relax by a campfire, listening to animal sounds under a roof of stars. The accommodation is in comfortable small tents, camping toilet and shower are available.
Accommodation is in simple but comfortable safari tents. Camping toilets and shower facility are available.

Day 3
The safari finishes at Ngare Nairobi, a Maasai village, where you will appreciate a lunch sitting in front of Mount Kilimanjaro.

10 Days –Camel Family safari.

Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Airport, met our driver who will transfer you to Hotel for your Dinner and Overnight

Day 2: Arusha-Mkuru Camp
After breakfast PREPARATION AND ARRANGEMENT FOR THE TOUR after lunch drive to Mkuru village about 1 hour drive towards north of Mt Meru. After packing your luggage on the back of the Camel the safari will start 2.5 hours to the first selected Camping place

Day 3-6 Mkuru-Lake Natron.
Four days Cultural Tour with Camel through the Masaai Villages (accompanied and guided by Masaai warriors) camping at selected Campsite or Tented Lodge.

Day 7-Lake Natron-Serengeti
After breakfast drive to Serengeti N. Park. After one hour drive you will start the first game drive (North of Serengeti) around lunch time you will arrive at Lobo Wildlife Lodge. After Lunch and a short break you will make another game drive (afternoon about 2 – 3 hours). Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Day 8: Serengeti-Ngorongoro
After breakfast. Game drive towards south of Serengeti. Lunch break at Seronera W. Lodge. And then proceed to Simba Campsite/Lodge for Dinner and Overnight

Day 9:Ngorongoro-Lake Manyara
Morning Descend in the Crater with Lunch Box. After crater tour drive from Ngorongoro to Kirurumu Tented Camp and Lodge or Campsite

Day 10:Manyara-Arusha
After breakfast you will have the last Game drive at Lake Manyara National Park with a Lunch break at Mto wa Mbu and preceed to Arusha at Ilboru Safari Lodge
